I have to admit that at first I was not enamored with the paintings and sculptures of the Colombian artist, Fernando Botero. But after visiting the museum in Bogota, I began to appreciate his "voluminous" style and its political criticism or humor. Also interesting is how he applied his signature style to his paintings of still-lifes and landscapes. The museum included many paintings that Botero donated including his private collection of modern art of Monet, Braque, Picasso, Matisse, Dali, Chagall, Miro, and others. In adjacent buildings are a nice collection of Latin American art from previous centuries, and a very intersting money museum.

We also had some time to enjoy sitting in the Plaza de Bolivar and watch life pass by.

Your photos of Bogota remind me of Quito. Similar plaza.
