is my favorite place in Mexico. Sheri here: I flew back with Brad on October 24th. We headed down to Playa del Carmen and found a hotel for a couple nights before moving to the resort we had reserved up the coast. We stayed at The Fives Hotel in Playa del Carmen. It was a reasonable price and had an infinity roof top pool - to my great pleasure. We had coffee at the Bob Marley coffee shop which was cool. The staff were so nice and the locals were great. We stumbled upon a Mariachi contest on the beach. It was wonderful to see all the families, couples, little kids enjoying the evening.
We moved on to our next "adventure," a resort before we camp in the truck most of the time. It was a cutural shock for Brad, but I loved it (he actually admitted it was nice too). We took one day and drove to a cenote (sink hole with fresh water and limestone caves). Brad took a big jump into the water. It was so beautiful. At the Vidanta Grand Mayan, we had plenty of pool time and relaxation. One night we splurged and went to the Circque du Soleil show, Joya. It was the first one to include dinner as an option. We had dinner during the show and it was unbelievable. We were able to eat the menu. The presentation of the food was wonderful and unique. They also altered the menu so I could eat dairy-free. The champagne was a bonus. We were going to go to the water park with the largest lazy river in Latin America, but it didn't work out. Next time!
It has been wonderful traveling with my life partner and soul mate. There is give and take and we have developed a rhythm over the last 17 years. It is wonderful to share new experiences together. It is great to travel and have the support of family. Kirsten has been wonderful FaceTiming us so we can talk and see Henry. We are checking out this morning and on to drive with Hank.
Brad here: Yes, I admit it. It was nice. I take it back. The Mayan Riviera ain't so bad. A nice relaxing week. Met some nice people, especially the staff at the Grand Mayan and The Fives. If you get away from all the construction, Quintana Roo is quite nice. Great to have Sheri with me now.
wow, the cenote looks amazing!! looks like you guys are having an awesome time.
So, now it's back to living in back of the truck. Have fun!
Great time to be in Mexico: dia de los Muertos coming up. Plenty of local festivities happening. Love the pics of coatis and iguana!
Congratulations!! Greetings from Saltillo!!
