Great weekend with Matt

Arrived in Denver on Thursday night, September 14. Matt took me out to dinner at a wonderful restaurant with unique sushi and tapas. Delicious. Next evening was an exciting Giants-Rockies baseball game. (Giants unfortunately lost at the bottom of the ninth.) On Saturday and Sunday we took off on a photography weekend with Matt giving me some lessons on how to take good pictures. We drove over Independence Pass to Aspen, then on to the Crystal Mill near Marble (one of the most photographed places in Colorado). The road to the Mill was some serious four-wheel driving. We talked to a couple coming the other direction from further away who called the road "divorce road" (in jest - they were laughing and he said he owed his wife some serious jewelry). It was a good warm-up for what may be in the future. That evening we went to the hot springs on the Crystal River near Redstone, then headed to Lost Lake to camp, arriving at 10 pm. A full day. Next morning we woke up before dawn to take pictures. Beautiful place. Unfortunately it was too early for the yellow aspen groves. Great weekend with Matt. We are so very proud of all of our kids. On to the Mexican border tomorrow.
